Hi :) This is a slightly shameless post, but I've decided shamelessness, sometimes, is useful. I'm Nate, 21, from the Midwest. I'm an English major currently taking some time away from school, a Protestant Christian, an incurable reader and writer, and the type of guy who can get far too emotionally invested in a football game, a good conversation, or a sentence that lands harder than it should have. And I'm single. And looking. Like, actually. I'm not looking to get engaged by next Tuesday. Not looking for some woman to instantly become the center of the universe, which would be miserable for both of us. I'm looking to date intentionally, with joint tax forms a good bit further down the road, and that's only if the two of us click for real. I think what I'm looking for the most is a woman who has room. Room to get curious about somebody. Room to let a conversation become recurring instead of disappearing on a whim. Room to flirt a little, ask real questions, remember things, make each other laugh in at least one direction. Room to discover if there's something worth building here. I'm not looking for constant messages. Not instant certainty that is made up because we're scared. What I do need is some basic level of reciprocity. If I'm interested in you, I'll make it obvious. I'd like to meet someone willing to make herself obvious too. Lord help me. Faith matters a lot to me. I'm Protestant, broadly evangelical, and pretty conventionally Nicene/traditional. I'm looking for a woman who actually follows Christ. Not perfectly, because I can't claim that either. But sincerely. Serious, but not stodgy. Able to laugh with faith instead of at it. I'm rather direct, and would appreciate a similar approach. Avoidants need not apply. I love books, writing, movies, Chicago sports, long conversations, ordinary adventures, and people who have some interior life. I'm drawn to women who are kind, curious, funny, emotionally alive, and capable of making real choices rather than forever standing at the edge of possibility and claiming they don't know what's ahead. Only one way to find out. Geography-wise, I'm in Illinois. I'm open to long-distance, but only within the Lower 48 if there's enough there to justify it. I've met several lovely international Christians, but I am trying to find women I can date without having to go through Customs. U.S. only, please. 😅 Ideally, you're somewhere around my age, roughly 19-23, but I care more about life stage and fit than math. If you're reading this and you're thinking "I'd like to get to know this guy"? Shoot me a DM. Tell me a bit of who you are and what you want. And a name would be good, too. If you're reading this and you're thinking "I know someone", tell them to shoot me a DM and, if you really like me, be utterly obnoxious about it. I know you're out there. And I know I'm right here. Let's see if we can't close the distance, yeah? submitted by /u/openroadradio__ to r/ForeverAloneDating [link] [comments]
